North Platte Fire annual banquet and awards. The Honor Guard did an amazing job. Congratulations to the award winners; Volunteer Ashley Nichelson - Dr. O.C. Kremborg award for devoted service, Volunteer Caelen Nichols - Lest C. Peterson Young Firefighter award, Firefighter Colten Chandler - Firemanship award for outstanding dedication in fire related service, Lieutenant Koby Archuletta - EMS award for outstanding dedication in EMS related service, and Firefighter Tyler Motsinger - Ron Holmes Leadership award for outstanding and dedicated department leadership.

North Platte Public Schools KIDS Klub recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the North Platte Fire Department. Our firefighters have been visiting elementary schools, teaching students about fire trucks, the equipment they use, and the gear they wear. It’s great that we are able to connect with the kids and help educate them on fire safety. Thank you to Kids Klub for the recognition and allowing us to be part of this program – we are proud to serve such a supportive community!!

🚫 OPEN BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🚫

Effective immediately (March 13, 2026) the Governor has issued an Executive Order that bans the issuance of Open Burn Permits for 14 days. The Executive Order prohibits any fire chief or person designated by the fire chief from granting an open burn permit for any purpose. This order will be reviewed prior to its termination to determine the need to extend the ban. Further information will be provided prior to that date.

The North Platte Fire Department asks that the use of commercially manufactured backyard burn pits also be discontinued until further notice. We want to be considerate of our neighbors and respectful of our First Responders throughout our region and the state as they continue to battle devastating wildfires! Thank you!
