The North Texas Area Labor Federation held its inaugural Labor Day Celebration on Monday!

We heard from our pro-worker endorsed candidates Taylor Rehmet, James Talarico, and Gina Hinojosa about the importance of organized labor and putting workers over billionaires. We also recognized amazing union and community champions, and heard directly from members about their work and this year's victories. Labor Day was full of solidarity and union love – onward to November!

Coalition partners defending the “Dallas Living Wage Policy” met at Dallas City Hall on the Tuesday after Labor Day to drop off our coalition’s proposal letter saving Dallas city workers compensation from being slashed, harming their abilities to survive in the current economic crisis.

Join us tomorrow (Wednesday) at Dallas City Hall @ 1 PM as coalition members intend to testify at the budget meeting on behalf of Dallas city workers directly to Dallas city council! ✊🏾

Following the NTx ALF’s inaugural Labor Day celebration, “Dallas Living Wage Policy” Committee Chairwoman Rosie Curts was joined by NTx ALF President Tevita ‘Uhatafe and NTx ALF Vice President David Marshall as labor stands with area faith leaders to sound the alarm on the proposed Dallas city budget cuts harming the most vulnerable city workers.

We stand in solidarity with the coalition to protect city workers and encourage our allies to join us. Special shout out Bridge North Texas for bringing us together to keep a Dallas city worker wage a livable wage!
