Constitution Day is an opportunity to reflect on the framework that has guided our nation for more than two centuries and the responsibility that comes with public service.

At the local level, the County Clerk must administer the following oath to all employees: “I, (name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfullyexecute the duties of the office of Deputy County Clerk, of the State of Texas, and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and Laws of the United States and of this State. So, help me God.

Today, we honor the Constitution and the responsibilities of serving under it.

Last night, Tarrant County Clerk Mary Louise Nicholson joined members of Arlington's West Citizen Action Network and shared the State of the County Clerk's Office and highlighted the many services available to Tarrant County residents. By connecting directly with our communities, we're helping residents better understand and access the services they need when they need them most. Supporting our communities means meeting people where they are and keeping them informed.

Marriage season is in full swing across Tarrant County, and we're honored to help couples take the next step. Last year, our office issued more than 17,000 marriage licenses, including 797 remote licenses through our video-conferencing kiosk, making it easier for military families and others separated by distance to say "I do."

Congratulations to every Tarrant County couple beginning this exciting new chapter.
