Roald Dahl wrote the story , The Fantastic Mr Fox about a fox battling with farmers (many of us are familiar with THAT story.) Wes Anderson turned it into a movie with Bill Murray, Meryl Streep and George Clooney doing the voices.
The SJR Community Library is showing this adventure comedy Friday August 28, 2026 at 8;15 at Oak Tree Park. As always.....this is a FREE event for our community.
Bring your chairs, blankets, extra clothes, snacks, drinks, family and friends to the Park on Friday

Friday August 28, 2026 at 8:15 pm we will be closing out our FREE Outdoor movie in Oak Tree Park series with a showing of the Wes Anderson film,The Fantastic Mr. Fox

This Saturday is picnic in the park! Hefferbells, food, beer, RAFFLE, and fun!

So many great things happening at the library and the park! For starters, our annual Picnic in the Park will be Aug 22 , 12-4 pm. Live Music with the Hefferbells, Members of Awkward Pocket, and more! Raffle! Beer! Fun! Free!

Know anyone needing to finish high school? Phil Ruckrich is spearheading an online, self paced program. He will be hosting an informational session on Aug 19th from 4-5 pm to answer any questions

We are partnering with Malakoff State Park and offering a wonderful reading program. Awards will be given out on Wed, Aug 26th, 3-4pm

And if you've read this far...

We are bringing Tapestry Project to the library by the end of August and will be stitching on Tuesdays 12-3 pm. Keep in touch regarding start date!

The library has a new fundraising platform: Check out our ongoing fundraiser!

We love to host our programs and activities that are geared towards children. While all of our programs are free and mostly all ages, we have several for kids only. SJRCL hosts 2 monthly storytimes and often the local elementary school will come for field trips as well. In the summer, we have 2 week...
