All of us at North Stonington Ambulance would like to congratulate NSAA company President Patrick Selburg on his retirement from the UConn Fire Department!
Patrick serves North Stonington Ambulance & North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company as both an NSAA EMT and NSVFC Firefighter. Patrick most recently was elected into the role of North Stonington Ambulance President in June after stepping into a volunteer role within the organization.
Congratulations on your retirement, Patrick! We thank you for your many years of service and look forward to all that’s ahead.

At approximately 12:45 PM today, North Stonington Ambulance was dispatched to respond with one ambulance to stage near South County Hospital in Rhode Island amid a reported active shooter incident. Incident Command declared a Level 4 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI), bringing numerous area public safety & EMS agencies to the incident.

Our duty crew responded as requested and was shortly thereafter released from the incident.

The most recent update from South Kingstown Police Department states "We have physically cleared South County Hospital. There is no active shooter, no threat has been identified, and there are no victims. Everyone is safe."

Details surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Please refer to official press releases and updates from the appropriate law enforcement and public safety agencies for additional information.

All of us at North Stonington Ambulance would like to congratulate board member & secretary Jakob Jodoin on obtaining his Paramedic certification. Jakob began at North Stonington Ambulance as a per-diem EMT, before transferring to volunteer status and becoming the secretary for the Board of Directors. He brings with him years of EMS and Fire experience at other area agencies.

Jakob’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to advancing his knowledge and skills are a testament to his passion for serving our community. Achieving this milestone requires countless hours of education, clinical training, and perseverance, and we are proud to see him reach this accomplishment.

Congratulations, Jakob! We wish you continued success in your career and thank you for your continued service to our community.

That’s a wrap on another year at the North Stonington Agricultural Fair, Inc

Throughout the weekend, NSAA staffed two ambulances—one dedicated exclusively to the fair and one that remained available to respond to emergencies throughout the rest of North Stonington.

A big thank you to all of the volunteers who make the fair possible, everyone who came out to enjoy it, the North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company and our crews for helping keep the fair safe and providing care whenever it was needed.

This morning, our team was on hand supervising the always-popular Pedal Tractor Pull, helping ensure a safe and fun event for all of the young participants and their families.

Once again this year, North Stonington Ambulance was proud to host not one, but two Wheeler High School seniors for their Senior Project experience!

Over the past several months , Kylie and Jordan have spent time learning about EMS operations, observing emergency medical care, and gaining insight into the world of EMS. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn made them a pleasure to have with us.

The senior project is a Wheeler High School tradition, incorporating hours of field work, journal entries, a final paper, and a final presentation.

On Saturday evening, the North Stonington Ambulance Association proudly celebrated its 55th Anniversary Banquet, recognizing the dedication, commitment, and accomplishments of our members who have helped serve the residents and visitors of North Stonington for more than five decades.

We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to this year’s award recipients and honorees:

Numerous other years of service awards were given to members to recognize their continued dedication. Life saving awards and unit citations were given to crews whose impact in high hazard incidents and critical care of patients resulted in positive outcomes or the saving of a life.

These awards represent countless hours of service, training, leadership, and commitment to providing high-quality emergency medical care to our community.

As we celebrate 55 years of service, we thank all of our past and present members, officers, families, and supporters who have helped make the North Stonington Ambulance Association what it is today. We look forward to continuing our mission of serving the community for many years to come.

Yesterday Afternoon, North Stonington Ambulance responded with North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company for a structure fire. NSAA evaluated one bystander on scene and provided rehabilitation for fire responders.

Here in North Stonington, our members dedicate countless hours to training, responding to emergencies, maintaining readiness, and caring for our residents and visitors with compassion and professionalism 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their commitment, teamwork, and compassion help make a difference in the lives of so many each year.

During EMS Week, we ask our community to join us in recognizing the hard work and sacrifices made by EMS professionals everywhere. Thank you to our members for your dedication, teamwork, and unwavering service to the Town of North Stonington.
