The Tazewell Police Department conducted a self assessment static display today. This assessment was in preparation for the upcoming VLEPSC on-site accreditation assessment.

During the self assessment, officers participated in comprehensive review of agency operations. Officers were asked questions covering a wide range of topics, including patrol operations, prisoner transports, administrative procedures, training, equipment, evidence and property, policy compliance, and many other aspects of daily law enforcement operations.

This self assessment static display provided an excellent opportunity to identify strengths, reinforce best practices, and ensure our agency is fully prepared for the upcoming on-site. We appreciate the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by every member of the Tazewell Police Department as we continue our commitment to excellence, accountability, and providing the highest level of service to our community.

The Tazewell Police Department is seeking a professional, motivated, and service-oriented Patrol Officer to join our accredited law enforcement agency. We are looking for individuals with integrity, strong work ethic, and a commitment to protecting and serving the citizens of our community. Applicants may be subject to physical fitness testing, psychological evaluations, and polygraph as part of the prequalification process.

The Tazewell Police Department is proud to announce that Deputy Chief W. H. Lowe, along with 50 other officers in our region attended the two day class for "Internal Affairs Investigations for Law Enforcement Leaders". This class was conducted by Matt Dolan of Dolan Consulting Group. The Southwest Academy Training Foundation provided this training opportunity at no cost to member agencies.
