On this day, 25 years ago, we lost one of our own brothers.
Twenty-five years have passed. Our department has grown, changed, and evolved, but one thing has never changed — we have never forgotten.
On August 13th, 2001, Ronald “Ronnie” Kreamer responded to reports of a structure fire at an apartment building with people still inside. Ronnie did what he was trained to do. Without hesitation, he entered the building and helped save numerous lives before ultimately collapsing.
Today, we remember Ronnie not only for the way he died, but for the way he lived — with courage, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others.
His sacrifice is forever a part of our department’s history. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, the lives he touched, and the firefighters who continue to answer the call today.
We are forever grateful for his service, his courage, and the ultimate sacrifice he made for others.
Rest in peace, Ronnie.
