Columbia Hook and Ladder No. 1

With one of the coldest parade days to recent date coming to a close the members of Columbia had an amazing day. The excellent turnout from our membership today started things off right. Followed by the Presentation of our annual awards, this year being given for top responder to Vernon Zuch and Meritorial service award going to William Springer. While we're on the topic of awards it came much to our surprise that after a 6 year drought and with the help from our marching partners from Live Hose Co. 4 we won the Most uniformed Company trophy for 2019. Even though every company was at it's finest. It was a great day and time to be had by all and as this day comes to a close we can't help but look forward to next year!

Thinking GREEK for dinner??....Stop by and see us all week at canal fest, we have locations on either side of the canal for your convenience.....still hungry after dinner don't forget to grab some of our sugar waffles located on the NT side of the canal directly across from the beer tent.

As we prepare for our upcoming annual inspection and parade we the members of Columbia hook and ladder take a moment to stop and remember all our fallen members from years past . Their decication and bravery to their service does not go unnoticed. Thank You Brother's.

As we prepare for tomorrow's Inspection Parade and the gatherings that follow let us not forget all our past brothers that made each company what they are today. No matter which company we may be from we are a unique family 6 companies united as one Dept. May you all have a great day tomorrow and to the members of Sweeney Hose from all of us at Columbia we wish Rich a quick recovery.

Today 141 years ago the fire department of the city of north tonawanda was formed with the start of 1 company. A hook and ladder company that company still exists today as the members of Columbia Hook & Ladder Co. No.1 prepare to gather and rejoice in yet another year of many accomplishments, I Cpt Chris Wildey would like to take the time to thank and honor all the members of the year's before us with out your dedications and service to your community we wouldn't be where we are today. So to all current members and their families enjoy tonight as we come together as that unique family we are FIRE FIGHTERS!!
