Adams Fire Company IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY DIAL 911
This is the Adams Fire Company page.

We would like to share with the community what we do as a fire company and events we host. Our Fire Company was established in 1924 to help with fire protection in the Town of Wheatfield. Over the years many things have changed with our number one priority continuing to be life safety and service to the public.

Last night alongside Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company Inc. we were able to conduct a joint ladder drill along with some pump relay as well. We spent the evening practicing deploying ground & roof ladders, hydrant hookup & nozzle work. Great collaboration with one of our neighboring agencies!

Last night, Catholic Health hosted the 2026 EMS Recognition Dinner, an evening dedicated to recognizing the lifesaving work performed every day by first responders across Niagara County.

Adams Fire Co. was recognized with an Excellence in Patient Care Award for a MVA that occurred back in November 2025 in which members had successfully extracted a driver who had been injured in the accident. Recognized and pictured are Asst. Chief Bob Pino, Captain Rich Goodman, Lt. John Voutour, Lt. David Derion, Firefighter/EMT Brendon Lauer & Firefighter Mike Doktor.

Thank you to Catholic Health & Mt. St. Mary’s for hosting the event and also to Sanborn Fire Dept for serving as the host agency this year. Congratulations to all departments and individuals on their accomplishments this year!

Last week, Former Chief Lauer presented Mike Smolen with the Chief’s Award. This award is given in recognition of someone who consistently goes above and beyond what is expected.

Mike has dedicated countless extra hours detailing our trucks, servicing equipment, and repainting many of our hand tools to help keep our apparatus and equipment looking and functioning their best.

Thank you Mike for your hard work, dedication, and pride in the department!

🚒 Why Cleaning Firefighter Air Bottles Matters🚒

Firefighter air bottles (SCBA cylinders) are more than just equipment—they’re a lifeline. Every breath taken on a fireground depends on that air being clean, safe, and reliable. That’s why regular cleaning and maintenance of air bottle gear is absolutely critical.

🔥 Health & Safety First
Contaminants like soot, chemicals, and carcinogens can cling to air bottles after every call. If not properly cleaned, these hazards can transfer to firefighters, increasing long-term health risks.

🛠 Equipment Reliability
Dirt, debris, and residue can compromise valves, seals, and connections. Routine cleaning helps ensure the equipment functions properly when it matters most—because failure is not an option in an emergency.

🧼 Cross-Contamination Prevention
Keeping gear clean reduces the spread of harmful substances between calls, stations, and personnel. It’s a key part of maintaining a safe working environment.

⏱ Extended Lifespan
Well-maintained air bottles last longer and perform better over time, saving departments money and ensuring readiness.

💪 Professional Pride
Clean gear reflects a disciplined, safety-focused team that takes pride in protecting both the public and each other.

Every call leaves its mark—but it’s our responsibility to make sure that mark doesn’t follow us into the next one. Take the time to clean, inspect, and maintain your air bottle gear. Lives depend on it.

Thank you to Sanborn Fire Company for helping us keep our equipment clean & safe!

This past weekend, some of our members were joined by other area firemen at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama to enjoy a NASCAR weekend.

During the weekend, our members interacted with hundreds of people at the track, as a result, they were able to raise $524 for our Vietnam veterans! Great job guys!
