Chase was located by the local animal control chained to a pole. Western Carolina Shepard then took in Chase. Sgt. Pulawski found Western Carolina Shepard through animal rescues here in Onslow County. Western Carolina Shepard donated Chase to the North Topsail Beach Police Department to become a K-9 Officer. North Topsail Beach Police Department to Crack Down on Drunk Drivers During St. Patrick’s Day Enforcement Campaign

If you decide to drink and drive this St. Patrick’s Day, luck will not be on your side in North Topsail Beach. The North Topsail Beach Police Department will increase patrols to keep impaired drivers off the roads during the statewide St. Patrick’s Day Booze It or Lose It enforcement campaign, March 13-19.

“We know alcohol tends to be a part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, but we implore our citizens and visitors to consume responsibly and avoid getting behind the wheel if they’ve been drinking. Have a plan to get home safely. Please don’t arrive on vacation on leave on probation” said Chief William K. Younginer.

In 2022, 225 motorists have been killed or seriously injured in alcohol-related crashes on North Carolina roads during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign period. During the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign period 4 alcohol-related crashes occurred in Onslow County.

Increased enforcement during specific campaign periods year-round is a key part of making North Carolina roads safer.
