Vernon Fire Rescue Ladies Auxiliary Am organization of women that not only help our firefighters but also help the community.

The 7th annual Toy Giveaway will be on December 9th from 1-5 pm at the Vernon Baptist Church Family Life Center. There are no income requirements. Open to residents of Jennings County. Children ages 0-12 will be helped one time each. If you have any questions please contact Dena Monday for more information.

If you would like to donate any new or gently used toys, please contact Dena Monday.
Drop off locations are located around Jennings County. They include: Old National Bank (North Vernon location), Greg Hicks State Farm, First Church of the Nazarene (North Vernon location), New Prospect Baptist Church, Don's Tire & Auto, Dollar General (Buckeye St. Location), All Jennings County Schools, Vernon Baptist Church, Shea Dances, Commiskey Corner Store, Brewer's. There are also donation jars at Bright Insurance Agency, Old National Bank, Indiana Spike & Rail Co., Stearns Plumbing Supply, WJCP.

Today was a great day for the annual Toy Giveaway!! We were able to have a storage unit donated to store the toys that we have received so far!! It is amazing what is happening for the Giveaway so that we can reach the families in need in Jennings County!! We are grateful for all who have already donated and hoping to receive more wonderful donations!! What we are needing are new toys, gently used toys, monetary donations, or volunteers to help with the setup and the Giveaway itself. If you or someone you know would be able to help, please contact Dena Monday and she will give you the information. Thanks again for the support!!!

Here in less than 1 week the Vernon Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary will be doing our annual Toy Giveaway. We are asking anyone who can donate toys (new or used) or money to please give!!! We need all the help we can get, you will recieve a donation reciept, and it really goes to a good cause. We are expecting at least 200 kids, up to 400 kids that we are going to be helping this year! Please, please help if you can!! No donation will be turned away no matter how big or small!! Donations will be accepted now until December 14 from 4-9pm at the Vernon Baptisit Church Family Life Center. If you would like to donate before Dec. 14, please contact Dena Monday. The giveaway will be December 15 from 9 am-6 pm at the Vernon Baptist Church Family Life Center. If you know of anyone who needs assistance, send our way that day! Thank you for your support!!!

Labor Day Festival starts tomorrow in Vernon and we would love to see all of your smiling singing in the rain faces!!! We WILL be setup despite the rain at the fire station!!! Come see us and all of our great volunteer firemen and get a fish sandwich (or tenderloin for those non fish lovers) and then come get some ice cream from the lovely ladies!!!!

A reminder for all: We'll be serving ice cream this year at the annual Labor Day Festival in Vernon. Come on down to have some great ice cream and have fish sandwich while your down!!! We'll be setup at the Vernon Fire House Saturday September 1 through Monday September 3!!! Please come and support your local volunteers!!!!

It's a new year and we are ready to get started!! We will be doing a lot of activities this year and one major fundraiser will be the cookbook!! We are taking recipes now, please message any member or email us with your recipes so they can be included for the second annual Vernon Fire Rescue Ladies Auxiliary Cookbook!! Thanks for all of the continued support!!

Thanks for all of the donations to the Toy Giveaway!! It has been great to see all of the support from the community! The Giveaway will be on Friday, December 16 from 10-3, Saturday, December 17 from 10-5, and Sunday, December 18 from 1-5. If you know any family needing help with Christmas this year send them down and we will help them out!
