Jennings County Education Center Jennings County Education Center is the adult education provider for Jennings County Schools. Programs for Obtaining a High School Diploma:
1.

High School Equivalency (HSE) Program
The High School Equivalency program is designed to help students study for the High School Equivalency Exam to earn their high school diploma. (This program replaced the old GED program.) Study Classes are as follows:
Morning Class - Monday through Thursday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Afternoon Class - Monday through Thursday 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Evening Class - Mondays

& Thursdays 5:30 pm- 8:30 pm
*Requirements include: Must be at least 18 and must attend class either 12 hours or 6 hours a week depending on the class the student is taking. Students ages 16-18 may be considered for this program after attempting the ASC program. See below for more details.

2. Adult Secondary Credit Program
Students complete courses on a computer program (E2020) to finish their credits for their high school diploma.
*Requirements include: Must be at least 16 with a withdrawal form, minimum of 18 credits upon entry, attend 15 hours a week, and complete a minimum of one class every month. STUDENTS UNDER 18 MUST ATTEMPT THIS PROGRAM BEFORE CONSIDERATION FOR THE HSE PROGRAM. Computer Lab Hours for ASC:
Monday & Tuesday 8:00 - 4:30
Wednesday & Thursday 8:00 - 3:00
Friday 8:00 - 2:30

Other Programs Offered:
1. Work One
JCEC also does preliminary testing and hours for Work One. Work One provides several certification programs that include CNA, CDL, Welding, HVAC, CNC, EMT, and more! To qualify for Work One, a person must have a high school diploma, pass a drug screening, have TABE scores above 9th grade level, and complete 12 hours at the JCEC. If you are interested in Work One certifications, please call 812-346-6030 or 812-346-7830.

2. Literacy Tutoring
Students work one on one with a tutor to strength their literacy skills.

3. ESL Classes
JCEC offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes once to twice a year. Times and dates may vary. Call for more information.

4. College Readiness Classes
JCEC offers free College Readiness classes once to twice a year. College Readiness classes focus on math and language skills needed to begin college. Times and dates for these classes may vary. Call for more information.

CCMA class UPDATE-- PLEASE READ! Call 812-346-2905 with questions or email the director at [email protected].

Start date moved to 2/24/26.

WorkOne is working with us for the CCMA. Please look at the following steps that we would like completed before the first class if you meet the following qualifications.

1. Must be an Indiana resident.
2. Proof of citizenship is required (e.g., birth certificate).
3. Must be registered with Selective Service (if under age 26, the individual can register here: https://www.sss.gov/Registration/Check-a-Registration/Verification-Form).
4. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
5. Cannot hold any college degrees.
6. Cannot have previously used WRG funds (there is a statewide system our MIS director can look at to see if customers have previously used funds)
7. Or earned a certification from an approved WRG training program.

Steps to complete:
1. Complete Orientation with WorkOne -- must have Social Security Card, Driver's License or state ID, and Birth Certificate-
---Needs to be completed a week before the first class.
---Complete NextLevel Jobs application: https://www.in.gov/dwd/nextleveljobs/response/
2. Complete TABE test and Indiana Career Explorer (Can be completed at either JCEC or WorkOne--call to schedule
3. Schedule Enrollment with WorkOne once the above steps are completed.

UPDATE: Due to some needed steps for registering and working with Work One, We are going to push the start date out a week. Classes will now start on Tuesday, February 24th. This will also allow us more time for those interested to come in and get initial paperwork and testing completed. I apologize for any inconvenience.

HSE classes resume on Monday, January 5th. Class days and times have been slightly changed from last semester.

Morning classes: Monday through Thursday 8:30am-11:30am
Afternoon classes: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12pm-3pm
