The Great Crayon Strike is coming to the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m.

Join Boxy the crayon box and a colorful cast of handmade puppets for a funny, interactive story about working together and thinking outside the box. The event will also include a pre-show craft and conversation, a dance-along, and a special backstage look at where the puppets hang out.

Deadline extended to August 14th

We are looking for local businesses and organizations to sponsor this year’s North Wales Community Day on Saturday, September 26.

Sponsorship levels are $250, $350, and $500. All sponsors receive a free 10-foot by 15-foot vendor space and recognition at the event. The last Community Day drew more than 3,000 visitors.

Community Day runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Main Street and in Weingartner Park, with vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, live music, and a free Kids Zone.

The deadline for guaranteed placement in printed promotional materials has passed, but sponsorships are still welcome.

Apply by August 21!

The Borough of North Wales is accepting applications for a Junior Council Person for the upcoming school year.

This is a unique opportunity for high school students who reside in the Borough to gain firsthand experience in local government while representing the perspectives of North Wales’ younger residents.

The Junior Council Person attends Borough Council meetings, budget sessions, and other public meetings throughout the school year, providing a valuable youth perspective on community issues. While the position does not include voting privileges or participation in Executive Sessions, it offers an excellent opportunity to learn how local government works and to contribute to meaningful discussions.

To apply, submit a letter of interest addressed to Borough Council and email it to [email protected] no later than August 21.

We encourage interested students to apply and become part of shaping the future of our community.

Community Survey: Help Shape the Future of Downtown North Wales

North Wales Borough is developing a Streetscape Plan to help guide future improvements to our downtown. The plan will look at how our streets, sidewalks, buildings, and public spaces work together to create a downtown that is safe, welcoming, attractive, and functional.

Community input is a critical part of this process. Your feedback will help identify priorities, highlight concerns, and shape recommendations for future improvements.

Looking for a fun, free way to explore North Wales Borough parks this summer?

Our Parks Insect Scavenger Hunt begins on August 1st.

Visit all nine participating parks to find insect signs, scan the QR codes to learn interesting insect facts, solve clues, and collect the nine secret words. Turn in your completed scavenger hunt sheet by September 12 for a chance to win a prize.

It’s a great way to spend time outdoors with family while discovering some of the fascinating insects that call our parks home.

To participate:
• Visit each of the nine parks
• Find the insect sign
• Scan the QR code
• Solve the clue to collect a secret word
• Return your completed scavenger hunt sheet by September 12

Scavenger hunt sheets can be downloaded using the QR code on the flyer or picked up at North Wales Borough Hall and the North Wales Area Library.

North Wales Borough is updating its Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance (SALDO).

These proposed updates are intended to modernize land-use regulations, enhance streetscapes, and streamline development approvals in support of the Borough’s 2040 Plan.

The proposed changes include:

* Modernizing zoning definitions
* Streamlining commercial uses
* Updating parking standards
* Preserving neighborhood character
* Improving design standards
* Enhancing streetscape requirements
* Clarifying the review process
* Focusing on sustainability

A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at North Wales Borough Hall.

Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and provide formal public comment before Council takes action.

Looking for a fun family activity next weekend?

Join us for “A Crack in Time: The Dinosaur and the Bell,” presented by Reach for the Stars Puppet Productions on Sunday, July 19, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the North Wales Arts & Culture Center, 125 N. Main Street.

This interactive puppet show is designed for all ages and takes audiences on a journey through paleontology, archaeology, and American history. It’s an entertaining and educational afternoon the whole family can enjoy.
