⚠️Scam Alert: Unsolicited Seeds in the Mail ⚠️

There have been reports of Pennsylvania residents in the Lehigh Valley receiving packages of seeds they did not order. The packages may be part of a “brushing” scam designed to collect your personal information—often through QR codes that link to fake websites.

Do NOT scan any QR codes or provide information.

If you receive seeds:
• Do not open the inside packaging
• Do not plant the seeds
• Double-bag the seeds and place them in the trash
• Do not burn, compost, or put them down drains

These unknown seeds can pose a risk to agriculture and the environment.

Should you receive unsolicited seeds in the mail, report it to USDA APHIS: 1-800-877-3835 or [email protected]

Yard Waste Reminder

Yard waste is no longer permitted in landfills within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Allen Township residents may bring unlimited quantities of yard waste—including leaves, branches, twigs, flowers, roots, bushes, and garden clippings—to the Allen Township Municipal Drop-Off during the hours listed here: https://allentownship.org/yard-waste.html

Grass is NOT accepted at the Allen Township Yard Waste Facility. Residents may contact First Regional Compost Authority (FRCA) for grass drop off. Contact information is available here: https://www.frcauthority.org/
Please note: The Authority may limit the amount of grass clippings accepted due to PADEP permit requirements.
