We were treated to a performance by the SOR Show Team before "cutting the ribbon" on the next chapter for this dynamic team. We also got to meet stellar keyboardist Camryn Napoli, recently named an SOR national All Star for the third time!

Rivian's R2 model could open up the middle-class market to in the same way that Ford Motor Company's Model T did for regular cars over a century ago, noted Governor JB Pritzker at a recent visit to Rivian's facility.

“It’s a product for people who haven’t otherwise been able to afford an electric vehicle in the U.S., and I’m proud it’s being made right here in Normal and in Illinois.”

The R2, which first came off the production line in Normal earlier this spring, has a much lower starting price than the R1 ($45K versus $72,990).

Since choosing to nearly a decade ago, EV pioneer Rivian has made significant investments in Illinois, including a $1.5B expansion to accommodate R2 production and a $120M supplier park adjacent to its facility.
