The Northfield Township Road District Recycling Center is officially open for the season! Stop by our facilities at 237 Melvin in Northbrook M-F from 7am to 3pm and drop off everything from eyeglasses to batteries to medical equipment. Our Recycling Center opens on Monday, March 31 at 7 am.
Bring your plastic grocery bags!

The Northfield Township Road District recently announced the launch of its new plastic bag recycling program, which opens for the season on Monday, March 31.

In addition to this new program, the Road District will open its facility for daily 2025 recycling drop-offs for Township residents starting Monday, March 31, 2025. The Road District, located at 237 Melvin Drive in Northbrook, accepts recyclable items Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm through October 31, 2025.

There are still spaces available! Join Commissioner Scott Britton, the Cook County Sheriff's Office (Official), and the Village of Wheeling for a catalytic converter marking event. Members of the Cook County Sheriff's Office will mark each catalytic converter as a deterrent to help reduce the number of thefts and make it harder to find willing buyers. Reposting from the Deerfield Police Department. Please be sure to keep an eye out, especially for residents in the Glenbrook Countryside areas.

Deerfield Police Department Notification:

We want to inform residents that there were reports of several commercial burglaries of small businesses reported overnight in the village. At this time, there is no immediate threat to the safety of our community. The incidents are currently under active investigation.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Deerfield Police Department.

Take a ride with Northfield Township Highway Commissioner Tim Rueckert and the plow team as they salt and clear Linneman Street in Glenview. The team was out at 4 am so the students at Henking could get to school safely. Public safety is our #1 concern!
