If you’re bored with the long days of retirement or just looking for an activity that will help you meet new people and serve your community, please consider volunteering at the Brown Public Library.

No special skills needed, although familiarity with a computer is a plus. We’ll provide whatever training you need. Shifts range from 2 to 4 hours.

We deeply appreciate the dedication and talents of our volunteers, who are vital for the library to provide its services to the community. If you are willing to share your love of books, language and culture, and want to work with the staff and community members, consider becoming a Library volunteer! Please fill out the Volunteer Application and submit it to the Brown Public Library, 93 South Main St, Northfield VT 05663.

We're looking for someone every other Thursday from 10am-12pm. We're also interested in finding a substitute volunteer to be on call.

Come join us for a showing of the award-winning documentary “From Earth to Earth: The Lost Art of Dying in America”

Brown Public Library - Northfield
Saturday May 30
10:00-11:30am

This short (20 minute) documentary describes natural burial and its benefits through stories from the people who worked to make it legal in Vermont, and the stories of people whose experiences have shown the ways it can help come to terms with the loss of a loved one and with one’s own mortality. The documentary will be followed by a Q&A session led by Jim Hogle Communications and Outreach Coordinator of the Vermont Forest Cemetery.
