With youth in our community back to school and another year of Summer Reading in the books, we would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make all the various activities and events associated with our Summer Reading Program possible this year at the Brown Public Library. We are incredibly grateful that so many individual community members, businesses, and organizations gave so generously of their time, resources, and ideas to help us encourage young Northfielders to find joy in reading, learning, and visiting the library this summer. We could not do it without all of your support!
Specifically, we would like thank Ralphie's Funhouse, Trans-Video Communications, Jay Peak Resort, The Friends of the Brown Public Library, the Vermont Department of Libraries, the Children's Literacy Foundation, the Vermont Farm and Forest School, and Bear Pond Books for helping us to build a robust Summer Reading Program with lots of awesome events, programs, and prizes that would be far beyond the scope of what the library would be able to offer on our own without community support. We would also like to thank the individual community members who sponsored our LEGO Challenge, our Candy Basket Prize, and a beautiful pinata for our Summer Reading Closing Celebration!
And last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank all of our incredible library volunteers who help out with every aspect of our Summer Reading Program. This includes both the awesome youth volunteers who helped out with our Friday Fun Mornings, parties, and events this summer as well as all the amazing volunteers who work regular shifts at the library year round and help children feel both welcome and celebrated when they visit the library and return their reading logs throughout the summer. The Summer Reading Program would not be possible without all of your hard work.
It is always such a privilege to get to share in so much reading, learning, and fun with the youth in our community all summer long. We included some pictures from a few of our events to share some of these moments with our community too! We already cannot wait until next summer!
