Another garage fire today with propane tanks stored inside. They were not the cause of the fire, but the valves were melted enough we smelled LP. It is a violation of MN Fire Code to store these tanks in any residential home or garage. Attached or detached. Tom

Notice the 2 - 20lb propane tanks pulled from the garage of this residential fire. They had nothing to do with the cause nor did they make things worse. But they could have made things very bad for both firefighters and residents. MN Fire Code prohibits storing any propane/LP tanks, bigger than those 1lb torch tanks, inside any structure, attached to a home or unattached. Move them outside. Have a safe holiday season!
