Old Northfield Middle School

Old Northfield Middle School For 93 years Northfield students attended the middle part of their public schooling at 301 Union Street. Now, it is the Weitz Center at Carleton College.

Built in 1911, the first building was called Northfield Central High School; an auditorium was added in 1937. An east wing, containing a gymnasium, opened in 1954. Northfield Central High became Northfield Junior High School in 1966 and then Northfield Middle School in 1982. The last class year held in the Union Street location was 2003-2004. This page is dedicated to the memories of all those that passed through these halls.
