Our Brush truck, Engine and crews assisted at the brush fires in Greenfield this afternoon. During that time we were also request mutual to Orange for a possible kitchen fire, but were cancelled.

We are excited to announce we were awarded $11,092 from the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Firefighter Safety Grant to purchase new SCBA air bottles and firefighter helmets

We assisted our neighbors with their structure fire yesterday morning with setting up water supply and fire suppression, as well as responded to a brush fire last night on Pine Street.

Open burning for today has been closed state wide today by Massachusetts Department of Enviromental Protection (DEP) due to elevated air pollution levels. Once this weather system passes through the region, better air quality is expected.

Today was the first day of the brush burning season. Brush piles can be burned from now until April 30th as long as weather permits( those sunny, windy days later in spring when the snow cover is gone are typically are the days permits get closed). you can apply for a permit at www.fcburnpermits.com .
Only brush is permitted and it must be burned from 10 AM until 4 PM, and attended to at all times.

Permits are only issued between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Permits are only issued ON THE DAY that you wish to burn and are valid for that day only. No permits are issued IN ADVANCE due to the potential for changing weather conditions.

We did a joint training tonight with one of our neighbors to the north, Wi******er NH Fire to go over ladder operations and familiarize each department with the others equipment.

Thank you to all who have shown up over the last four Sundays for our Turkey shoots, and to Mitchell’s for allowing us to use their grounds for the shoot. We’ve enjoyed seeing old faces as well as the new, and all the kids!!

Congratulations to this weeks winners, Joe Reed, Jared Dufresne, Will Rogers, Dick Clough, Elijah Lawler, Andy Kazanowski, Cathy Burniske, Owen Zilinski, Reggie Neff, and Jaida Barry!!

We look forward to seeing everyone there again every Sunday in October next year!!

It was a beautiful morning for the Turkey shoot this morning!!! It was great to see familiar faces and new ones!

Congrats to this weeks winners, Doug Houle, Bob Wood, Ed Chmyzinski, Sam Lawler, Jaida Barry, Cathy Burniske, Mike Barry, Will Rogers, Andy Kazanowski, Jared Dufresne and our kids round winner Eli Lawler!!

We had a great turnout and look forward to seeing everyone next week as well!!!

It was a chilly morning this morning for the turkey shoot, but still had a good turn out!! Congrats to our winners, Will Rogers, Jared Dufresne, Bill O’Connell, Bob Wood, Reggie Neff, Bruce Golinski, Billy Martin Jr, Mike Barry, Bill Martin and Skip Dunnell.

Next week we will have a kids only round for those that are 12 and younger. Look forward to seeing you all next week!!
