North Shore Senior Center North Shore Senior Center offers a comprehensive suite of services for older adults.

We are an ideal fit for you if you are an active older adult, a caregiver for an older adult, or in need of specialized services. Our staff, volunteers and members work together to provide the largest range of programs and services for older adults and their families in the Chicago area. We serve more than 23,000 individuals a year, have more than 3,300 members and benefit from the skills of more

than 400 volunteers. Our programs and services include:
• Therapy, counseling, and money management
• Caregiver resources, programs and services
• Specialized care for people living with dementia
• Educational, fitness and wellness programs
• Lifelong Learning classes and clubs
• Social services including benefits counseling,
support groups, adult protective services,
in-home services, lending closet
• Volunteer opportunities
• Shop featuring collectibles, jewelry, China,

Artists from our Memory Care Programs, Mind Matters and House of Welcome, are honored to showcase part of their exhibition "Looking Together" at the New Trier Township offices this month.

Through art, individuals living with dementia and other brain changes share powerful stories, emotions, and unique perspectives. This meaningful exhibit highlights the beauty of self-expression and the importance of seeing one another through a compassionate lens.

Calling all art lovers! Artists from our Memory Care Programs, Mind Matters and House of Welcome, are excited to present a portion of their art show "Looking Together" at the New Trier Township offices this month! This show offers a creative exploration of the ways in which people living with dementia and other brain changes express emotions, stories, and creativity through art. A public viewing of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, May 27 from 1 - 3 p.m. If you are unable to attend this viewing, email outreach@ newtriertownship.com to arrange a time to visit.

We had a full house for this morning's AgeOptions Legislative Breakfast! Cook County officials shared some of the serious issues families are facing when it comes to access to resources, family caregiver support, and social isolation among older adults and those caring for them. We heard stories about the struggles real families are facing. With 23% of Illinois residents over the age of 60 and more than 1.3 million family caregivers, it's time to act to ensure that families have access to home-delivered meals and other essential in-home services, SNAP benefits, and education and funding for unpaid family caregivers. Legislators encourage people to contact their local officials to share their struggles so this information can be used to leverage legislative priorities.
