Today the on duty crew was able to stop by Kid Friendly Academy to talk with the kids about fire safety, and what number to call if there is an emergency. Afterwards we were able to show off Engine 3513, the equipment, and even try on our fire gear. Thank you Kid Friendly Academy for the opportunity to stop by and meet everyone!

Residential Structure Fire Quickly Brought Under Control

Northfield Village, OH — At approximately 02:29 a.m., the Northfield Village Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire on Vincent Avenue.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and fire showing from the front of the home. Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack and were able to achieve a quick knockdown of the fire, bringing the incident under control in a short period of time.

Three occupants were inside the residence at the time of the fire and were able to safely exit prior to the arrival of emergency crews. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and damage estimates are unknown at this time.

The Northfield Village Fire Department was assisted on scene by Macedonia Fire Department, Oakwood Fire Department, Twinsburg Fire Department, and Hudson EMS.

The Northfield Village Fire Department reminds residents to ensure working smoke detectors are installed on every level of their home and to practice a home fire escape plan.
