It's National Public Works Week! This years theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” recognizes the essential work that public works professionals do every day to keep Northfield safe and running smoothly.

Northfield Public Works maintains roads, water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, village facilities, sidewalks, street signage, parkway trees, as well as village vehicles and equipment. Public works staff also ensure the highest quality and safety of our drinking water.

Much of their work happens behind the scenes and often goes unnoticed. Whether responding to a water main break in the middle of the night or plowing snow during a winter storm, Public Works staff are always there to get the job done. In Northfield, Public Works employees are also cross trained as fire rescue members. Thank you for all that you do!
