We are proud to announce that LTCF has partnered with the Leelanau Early Childhood Development Commission, Northport Public School and the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department to offer tuition assistance at the Dandelion Discovery Center in Northport!

This is a new pilot program offered through our Basil Antenucci Early Childhood Scholarship Fund. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
· Children birth through age 6
· Live in Leelanau Township
· Already attends or plan to attend the Dandelion Discovery Center
· Income eligibility is 225% of poverty based on household income and number of people in the family utilizing Federal Poverty Guidelines
· Children receiving State or Federal childcare support are not eligible

Fall 2026 enrollment applications are open through May 22, 2026. Summer 2027 enrollment will be open in January 2027. Please use the link below to apply, or visit the health department to pick up and complete a paper copy.

Our Board of Trustees approved grants to five organizations during their March board meeting!

Northport Public School (NPS), recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Youth Endowment Fund to purchase trees, shrubs and flowers to plant around town to nurture and support the environment.

Leelanau Township, recipient of a $6,000 grant from the Pearl Kellogg Memorial Fund to help purchase a bronze plaque to honor the Veterans of Leelanau Township from Civil War to present, a special Memorial Day service and dedication, and a brochure honoring Veterans buried in the Township cemeteries.

5loaves2fish, recipient of a $9,568 grant from the General Endowment Fund to purchase supplemental protein sources for weekly meals delivered to Northport and ensure the continuation and possible expansion of these meals.

Northport Sportsman's Club, recipient of a $2,500 grant from the General Endowment Fund to purchase fish, refreshments, a tent, rods, bails, and hardware for the Scott Brow Kids Fishing Day.

Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center (TBCAC), recipient of a $25,000 grant from the General Endowment Fund to directly support core programs and services with particular focus on TBCAC’s youth body safety programming and youth mental health services.

Our Board of Trustees approved grants to ten organizations during their January board meeting!

Northport Public School (NPS), recipient of a $2,791.52 grant from the Youth Endowment Fund to purchase four podcast stations for creating podcasts as final products to showcase student learning.

Leelanau Christian Neighbors (LCN), recipient of a $6,069 grant from the General Endowment Fund to purchase one month’s worth of beef and pork protein for the LCN food pantry.

Leelanau County Cancer Foundation (LCCF), recipient of a $15,000 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help Leelanau Township residents with cancer by covering some of their “non-medical” expenses while undergoing treatment.

Omena Village Preservation Association (OVPA), recipient of a $12,000 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help cover costs of a storm water drainage study to determine the origin, scope, course and ultimate endpoint of snow melt and storm water drainage in and around the OVPA properties in Omena

Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum (GTLM), recipient of a $6,550 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help fund the new America 250 Grand Traverse Lighthouse/flag history exhibit and America 250 Village of Northport banners project.

Northport Community Events (NCE), recipient of a $2,600 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help with start-up costs and 2026 NCE events.

Northport AREA Heritage Association - NAHA (NAHA), recipient of a $5,500 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help fund the “Our Native” exhibit.

Village Voices of Northport , recipient of a $1,200 grant from the General Endowment Fund to purchase new music for the 2026 season, which includes their spring and holiday concerts.

Northport Performing Arts Center / formerly Northport Community Arts Center (NPAC), recipient of a $16,548 grant from the General Endowment Fund for funding their 2026 season.

Leelanau UnCaged, recipient of a $1,400 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help cover the cost of trademarking the UnCaged name and logo.
