This afternoon Engine 296 was first due to a motor vehicle accident on Route 25A. While en route, Chief 31 advised Engine 296 that one person was trapped in a vehicle.
Upon arrival, Engine 296’s crew utilized the Hurst tools (Jaws of Life) to remove both driver’s side doors and the B-post, allowing access to the patient. The patient was treated and transported by Northport Rescue to a local hospital.
All operations were conducted under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Bill Scherer.
Outstanding work by all members involved in a challenging extrication operation. Job well done by all crews operating at the scene.
