Fire Danger Emergency Declaration (Burn Ban) is in place for Spink County effective immediately due to forecasted dry and hot conditions. The Spink County Commission approved a Burn Ban today, July 21st 2026. No open burning allowed.

The Fire Danger Emergency Declaration (Burn Ban) has been lifted for Spink County Effective today. 4/28/26.

The Spink County Sheriff's Department and your local Fire Departments would still appreciate a phone call to the Dispatch office (605-472-4595) if you conduct a controlled burn. Just let Dispatch know when/where you are burning. This saves time and resources.
