Hi everyone,

Today I am announcing that I will not be seeking reelection to the Select Board this April. I volunteered to run three years ago with the goal of helping the town and its residents. I hope I was able to achieve that goal.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with their support and encouragement over the past three years. My time on the Board has been both very challenging and extremely rewarding. We have a great town with great people, and I am proud to have served as one of your Select Board members.

If you are interested in running for Select Board this April, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you again, Norton.

-Kevin

This morning, the Sun Chronicle published an article with some disappointing and disturbing allegations against our Town Manager, our Select Board chair, and our Town Accountant.

One of this Board’s responsibilities is to evaluate the performance of the Town Manager. In this case, while we have only allegations at this point, it is incumbent on the Select Board to conduct an immediate investigation and to take action if necessary.

Lucia Longhurst has served the town admirably as our Town Clerk for over eight years. Given my experience with her integrity and honesty, I have no reason to doubt her accounting of the incidents referenced in the article. However, only a full investigation to gather the facts and evaluate the overall working environment at Town Hall will reveal the existence or the extent of any issues, past or present.

At tonight’s Select Board meeting I will be calling for such an investigation to be handled by an independent employment law attorney. As we have no Human Resources staff, this is the only way we can get to the bottom of what’s happening at town hall.

The residents and employees of Norton deserve their Town Hall to be a safe, professional, and productive place to conduct the town’s business.

Congratulations to Alec Rich III - Norton Select Board, Roger Marsan, and Audrey Moschella on their election today. Looking forward to working together for Norton. Crazy that the second School Committee seat is tied and will come down to a hand count! Good luck to Deniz and Dan.

Hi everyone. Tomorrow is Election Day in Norton. Please make sure you come to the Middle School between 8am and 5pm to vote!

I will be casting my votes for Oren Sigal (Select Board), and Dan Sheedy and Deniz Savas (School Committee).

All three are gentlemen of integrity, intelligence, commitment, and substance. On issues that face Norton you know where they stand. They don’t just talk about transparency, they exemplify it.

Good luck to all three candidates tomorrow!

Not to rush the season but with only 2 weeks left until Thanksgiving, it's not too early to mark your calendar for the Annual Festival of Lights and all that goes along with it.

Sunday, December 3rd starting at 5pm on the Town Common.

This year look for:
* The annual Memorial Lights by the Community Lions Club
* Performances by On the Barre, Norton High Chorus, Norton Singers and our own DJ Stephen Bishop
* The lighting of the tree and menorah
* Watch Santa and Mrs. Clause come to town and visit with them
* Norton Fire Dept. is collecting toys and winter clothing for Christmas is for Kids to help those in need in our area.

Fingers crossed for nice weather...dry or of the white kind would be ok too!
