🚧🚨ROAD CLOSURE REMINDER🚨🚧

Starting at 9:40 AM this morning, Greenwich Road will be temporarily closed between Easton Road and Cleve-Mass Road. This closure will last until parade has ended and the roads are cleared.

🚧 This closure will be strictly enforced to help keep our parade participants and spectators safe as everyone gets into place.

🍬 Planning to catch some candy? Be sure to arrive early, find your favorite spot, and get ready for some parade-day fun!

We can’t wait to see all of you along the parade route! And don’t forget to swing by the Norton Safety Forces tents at the festival for some more giveaways! 🚒🚓

CIDERFEST PARADE – ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

One of Norton’s favorite traditions is almost here! The 2026 C***rFest Parade will take place this Saturday, October 3rd, and we’re looking forward to seeing our community come together for another great C***rFest weekend!

Beginning at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, Greenwich Road will be closed between Cleveland-Massillon Road and Easton Road for the C***rFest Parade.

We anticipate the roadway will reopen at approximately 11:00 a.m., once the parade has safely concluded.

We know road closures can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate everyone’s patience. These temporary closures help keep our parade participants, families, spectators, and everyone enjoying the festivities safe.

Come out, enjoy the parade, support our local businesses, and help us kick off another great Norton C***rFest!

🔥 TRAINING IN ACTION! 🔥

Three days of hands-on training in the Ohio Fire Academy’s Fire Blast Trailer, featuring kitchen, basement, and rollover fire scenarios.

Realistic scenarios. Sharper skills. Better prepared to protect and serve our community when it matters most. 🚒🔥

A big THANK YOU to the Ohio Fire Academy and the Ohio State Fire Marshal Office for providing this valuable training opportunity!

Also, thank you to our neighboring departments for joining us - Barberton, Chippewa Township, Coventry, Village Of Mogadore, and Wadsworth Fire Departments.

🚨SMOKE ALERT🚨

Starting today through Wednesday, we are hosting a joint fire training with local departments. This trailer, provided by the Ohio State Fire Marshal, is here to help train our firefighters with real live fire scenarios.

🔥This trailer may be producing a lot of smoke in the area of Easton and Greenwich Roads, especially with this rainy weather. Please, don’t be alarmed when you see or smell it - it’s all part of the exercises.

Training like this helps us stay prepared, work together, and be ready when our community needs us most. We train hard so we can serve you better! 🚒

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation was forever changed.

We remember the innocent lives taken on September 11, 2001. Mothers and fathers. Sons and daughters. Husbands and wives. Friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Each one had a story, a family, and a future that was taken far too soon.

We remember the heroes who ran toward the danger while others were running away. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, and countless brave individuals who willingly put their lives on the line to save others. Many never made it home.

We remember those who gave everything at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in the Shanksville, PA field. We remember the courage of those who answered the call, and the strength of those who continued to serve in the days, weeks, and months that followed.

Twenty-five years later, the pain may feel different, but the memories remain. The lives lost will never be forgotten, and the sacrifices made will never be taken for granted.

Today, we pause. We remember. We honor. And we pray for all those whose lives were forever changed that day.🇺🇸

This training helps our team members handle situations involving individuals in crisis due to mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or intellectual and developmental disabilities.
