The Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police Announces 2026 Candidate Endorsements
The Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police is proud to announce its endorsements of candidates for state legislative and district attorney offices across the Commonwealth in the 2026 election.
Representing more than 3,200 members throughout Massachusetts, the Massachusetts FOP takes its
endorsement process seriously. Candidates seeking the organization’s support were evaluated based on submitted materials and responses, their record of support for law enforcement, professional and
personal interactions with members of the law enforcement community, character and ethics, and their willingness to engage with FOP members on issues affecting the profession and the well-being of those who serve.
Following this process, the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police is proud to endorse the following
candidates:
Linda Champion — Suffolk County District Attorney
Nicholas Collins — State Senate, First Suffolk District
David DeCoste — State Representative, 5th Plymouth District
Paul Frost — State Representative, 7th Worcester District
Jessica Giannino — State Representative, 16th Suffolk District
Jim Hawkins — State Representative, 2nd Bristol District
Steven Howitt — State Representative, 4th Bristol District
Kathleen LaNatra — State Representative, 12th Plymouth District
Marc Lombardo — State Representative, 22nd Middlesex District
Chris Markey — Bristol County District Attorney
John Marsi — State Representative, 6th Worcester District
Michael Soter — State Representative, 8th Worcester District
Ken Sweezey — State Representative, 6th Plymouth District
Adam Scanlon — State Representative, 14th Bristol District
Dave Solet — Middlesex County District Attorney
Bruce Tarr — State Senate, First Essex and Middlesex District
Jeff Turco — State Representative, 19th Suffolk District (Winthrop/Revere)
Ed Walsh — State Representative
Richard Wells — State Representative, 7th Norfolk District
Steven G. Xiarhos — State Representative, 5th Barnstable District
These endorsements reflect the Massachusetts FOP’s commitment to supporting candidates who have
demonstrated respect for the law enforcement profession, understand the challenges facing officers and their families, and are committed to maintaining an open and productive dialogue with our membership.
The Massachusetts FOP Board of Directors voted unanimously in support of these endorsements, with the membership concurring with the Board’s action.
“Our endorsement is not something we give lightly,” said the Director of Governmental Affairs, Frank Frederickson.
“We look closely at each candidate’s record, character, relationship with law
enforcement, and willingness to listen to the men and women doing this job. These candidates
have earned the support of our organization, and we are proud to stand with them in the 2026
election.”
