During last week’s State Conference, Rich Shailor was re-elected as Vice President and James Franco was re-elected to another term as Secretary of the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police.

Thank you both for your years of hard work, dedication, and service to our members and organization. Your commitment continues to strengthen the Massachusetts FOP and the officers we represent across the Commonwealth.

It was also a tremendous honor to have Patrick Yoes National FOP President in attendance to administer the oath of office and officially swear them in for another term.

Congratulations, and thank you for your continued leadership!

Yesterday was something truly special.

Law enforcement leaders from across Massachusetts and throughout New England joined us for our second annual training event. We were honored to host an incredible lineup of speakers, including National FOP President Pat Yoes, who shared valuable insights and reinforced the importance of standing together as a profession.

We were also proud to present the Ned Merrick Legislator of the Year Award to State Representative Steven Xiarhos in recognition of his unwavering support of the law enforcement community and his continued advocacy for those who serve.

Another highlight of the day was honoring Detective Dan Wall of the Everett Police Department with the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police Valor Award for his heroic actions in front of Encore Boston Harbor last year. His courage and selfless actions exemplify the very best of our profession.

We were equally honored to recognize Detective Lavar Gilbert, who was seriously injured by gunfire in the line of duty. While Detective Gilbert continues to recover from the physical and emotional impact of that incident, he has been forced to wait far too long for the retirement benefits he has earned and deserves.

Unfortunately, Detective Gilbert is not alone. Other officers across the Commonwealth are also awaiting legislative approval of benefits that should have been expedited long ago. We remain committed to advocating on their behalf and urge the Legislature to act swiftly so these bills do not expire and require refiling. Yesterday provided an opportunity to show Detective Gilbert our support and reaffirm our commitment to standing with him until this matter is resolved.

It is impossible to capture all of the incredible moments, conversations, and accomplishments from yesterday in a single social media post. Thank you to all of our speakers, attendees, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make this event such a tremendous success.

Together, we continue to strengthen our profession, support one another, and ensure that the voices of law enforcement officers are heard throughout Massachusetts and beyond.

What an incredible way to kick off our annual training and conference!

A huge thank you to the Auld Triangle for their outstanding hospitality and to the Boston Police Gaelic Column for an amazing performance that set the perfect tone for the evening.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the night such a success. Events like this remind us that our organization is about more than training and meetings it’s about camaraderie, brotherhood, and the relationships that bring us together year after year.

We’re looking forward to a great training and conference!

Today we join our brothers and sisters of the Boston Fire Department in mourning the loss of Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff.

Bobby embodied the very best of public service—courage, selflessness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to others. His service and sacrifice reflect the values that all of us in public safety strive to uphold each and every day.

While his loss is deeply felt, his legacy will endure through the lives he touched, the community he served, and the brothers and sisters who carry on his mission.

Rest easy, Bobby. Your watch is complete, and your impact will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with the Kilduff family and the entire Boston Fire Department.

🏌️‍♂️⛳ What a day!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Annual Massachusetts FOP Golf Tournament on Thursday. Without question, it was one of our best tournaments yet!

From the golfers who came out to play, to our incredible sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and the hardworking members of our Executive Board who spend months planning this event, we are truly grateful for your support. Events like this simply don’t happen without all of you.

We are especially proud that this tournament helps support the outstanding work of the 100 Club of Massachusetts. Their commitment to assisting first responders and their families during times of need makes a real difference throughout our Commonwealth and beyond.

The weather was great, the course was beautiful, the competition was fierce (at least according to some scorecards 😄), and most importantly, we came together to support causes that matter.

Thank you for making this year’s tournament such a tremendous success. We are already looking forward to next year!

A well-deserved honor for Detective Wall.

Members of the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police Executive Board were proud to attend yesterdays ceremony in support of Detective Wall and his family. Representing the Executive Board were Vice President/National Trustee Richard W. Shailor, who had the honor of performing the National Anthem, and FOP Attorney Scott Dunlap, who stood by Detective Wall throughout the entirety of this case.

Today’s recognition reflects Detective Wall’s professionalism, dedication, and service. We are also proud to announce that Detective Wall will be honored once again next week during the Massachusetts FOP State Conference and Training.

Congratulations, Detective Wall, on this well-earned recognition.

Today, we remember the fallen service members who never made it home, the families who carry that loss forever, and the legacy of sacrifice that continues to shape this country.

From one uniformed profession to another, we honor them today. 🇺🇸

🚨 NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL TRAINING! 🚨

Where else can you:
✅ Train with one of the best lineups of speakers we’ve ever assembled
✅ Hear directly from National FOP President Patrick Yoes
✅ Network with officers from all across New England
✅ Spend a few days on beautiful Cape Cod in June
✅ AND somehow only pay $130 a night for a hotel room on the Cape during summer season? 🤯

Honestly, at this point we’re starting to think the hotel made a clerical error… but we’re not asking questions. 😂

Oh… and did we mention everyone registered gets invited to the welcome party the night before?

This isn’t just another conference where you sit in a freezing ballroom eating stale muffins. This is shaping up to be one of the best law enforcement training events in New England.

We still have a few spots left — don’t wait until your buddy posts photos from the Cape while you’re stuck working overtime back home.

You do NOT want to miss this!
