Nortonville Fire Department

Nortonville Fire Department ,along with South Hopkins Fire ,responded to automatic mutual aid request to White Plains Fire for a structure fire at 372 Concord Drive in White Plains.
Units arrived on scene to a fully involved structure, and began attacking the fire. Due to the time of day, and the lack of manpower,and water supply, additional resources responded from St. Charles, Mortons Gap,Earlington, and Richland Fire Departments.
With temperatures in the mid 90's, and a feel like temp of over 100 degrees, firefighters battled the heat as well as the fire. In a short time the fire was knocked down, and under control. Thanks to all those involved.

At approximately 12:20 pm today, .Nortonville Fire,along with mutual aid crews from South Hopkins,White Plains,St. Charles,and Mortons Gap fire departments,responded to a mobile home fire at 104 Blanche Ave.
Crews arrived on scene with heavy smoke and light flames showing from the structure. Crews made entry, and quickly had the fire knocked down and under control. Shortly there after all fire had been extinguished.
Thanks to all Departments and personnel involved in this incident. Job we'll done.

It is with great sadness that I have to share the unexpected passing of Lt. Jerry Norris. Jerry has been a firefighter/Officer with our Department for several years, and his dedication to our community will be greatly missed. We ask for prayers and privacy for the family in this time of loss.

April 30 marked the end of the Spring Wildfire Hazard Season. While the 6pm to 6am restriction on burning within 150 of woodlands is no longer in effect, we want to remind everyone that proper precautions to keep the fire from escaping is always required. Use common sense,burn only legal items, such as yard waste, limbs,leaves,clippings,and be sure to follow any local ordinances or bans as well.
