Today we celebrated a small but mighty group of future healthcare professionals at our Spring 2026 Nurse Assistant Graduation! 🎓🩺

These graduates are now preparing for their next big step—earning state certification to officially become CNAs. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, perseverance, and heart this cohort demonstrated throughout their training journey.

This group holds a particularly special story for NLMAS. Two of today’s graduates began with us as ESL students before courageously transitioning into our Nurse Assistant pathway and successfully completing the program. One of those students, Hyekyung Kim, served as our student speaker today.

Just one year ago, Hyekyung attended our Career Fair and learned about the CNA pathway for the very first time. Today, she graduated from it. đź’™

Stories like these remind us why adult education matters and how truly life-changing these opportunities can be. Congratulations graduates—we can’t wait to see the incredible impact you will make in the healthcare field!

Today’s event brought together over 30 vendors, career pathways, community partners, and countless opportunities for our students and community members. From networking and career exploration to learning about training programs and employment opportunities, it was an invaluable experience for our adult learners as they continue building brighter futures.

This past weekend on May 2nd, we proudly celebrated Kristy Cota, our incredible Child Care Instructor, who was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award at the state level during the California Council for Adult Education Conference in San Diego.

Surrounded by colleagues and even a former student, Kristy’s recognition is a true reflection of the impact she has made in the lives of so many through her Child Development pathway classes. 💙

Her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to student success continue to inspire us all. We are so proud to have her as part of the NLMAS family!
