🐻💪 NHS High-Needs Students Show Significant Gains on PSAT and SAT Exams!

2026 PSAT and SAT score reports were released last month to education institutions. Initial internal reviews show increases 📈 in average scores among high-needs students* across every grade level at NHS!

Students who met or exceeded their recommended grade level benchmark score or showed significant growth on either the PSAT or SAT exam will be recognized during assemblies in the coming weeks.

*A high-needs student is one who: qualifies for free or reduced lunch, is an English learner (EL), or is a student with disabilities

🎉 The Bears Beating Cancer Club was recently honored as a Community Champion by Norwalk Hospital for the annual Bear Flop event. Since 2013, the Bear Flop has raised over $54,000 for the Whittingham Cancer Center!

On Thursday, April 23rd, a group of our Norwalk High School students interested in the trades got the opportunity to enter the new NHS building to participate in the Gilbane Trades Day, a series of hands-on workshops hosted by the Gilbane Building Company.

Our bears were able to learn more about plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, architecture and VDC (virtual design and construction). Students were also able to tour the new building to see some of their new learning in action.
