EVENT: Heat Advisory ALERT: * WHAT...Peak heat index values ranging from the upper 90s to lower 100s Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Overnight lows in the low to mid 70s will provide for limited nighttime relief from the heat. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio. * WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hot and humid conditions will continue on Thursday, and portions of the Heat Advisory may need to be extended. INSTRUCTIONS: Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. WHAT...Peak heat index values ranging from the upper 90s to lower 100s Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Overnight lows in the low to mid 70s will provide for limited nighttime relief from the heat.

WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio.

WHEN...From 2 PM Tuesday to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

A Blue Alert has been issued statewide by The Ohio Attorney General's Office. There is a suspect on the run after seriously injuring a police officer in Sandusky County. If you locate this suspect, do not approach and call 911.

Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon through the evening.
There is a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for a few strong to severe storms over northern Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania. The main severe hazard will be isolated damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph followed by a lesser threat of large hail up to the size of Quarters possible.

EVENT: Special Weather Statement

At 1125 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Green Springs to near Upper Sandusky. Movement was east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include... Bucyrus, Upper Sandusky, Galion, Shelby, Willard, Ontario, Crestline, Plymouth, New Washington, Bloomville, Sycamore, Morral, Chatfield, Greenwich, Attica, Benton, Nevada, North Fairfield, Republic, and Tiro.
