Per the Norwalk Police Department: W Main Street road construction between Valley Park Dr and N/S West St begins 05/27/2026 and will last approx. 6 months. The road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project. Crews will work Monday-Thursday (10hr days) with make up days on Fridays.

Local detour: Eastbound – Left on Valley Park Dr. Right on Jefferson St., continue around Pallet Source To N. Garfield St. Left on W. Main St. Westbound – Right on N. Garfield St. (around Pallet Source) To Jefferson St., continue around Pallet Source Left on Valley Park Dr. Right on Main St.

Truck detour and alternate truck routes: Westbound on E. Main St. – Left (south) onto Benedict Ave. / Route 250 West onto the Route 20 / 18 bypass Eastbound from Route 20 / 18 – Continue east on the Route 20 / 18 bypass Left onto Benedict Ave. / Route 250 Right onto E. Main St. / Route 61

Unless making a local delivery, trucks on residential streets posted “No Through Trucks” are subject to ticketing.

Residents, emergency personnel, trash collection, and school buses will have access to this section of W. Main St. W. Main St. residents between Valley Park and Northwest St., please have your trash out by 7 AM for early trash collection for the duration of the project.

From the Norwalk Police Department: Avoid the area of Shady Lane Dr due to an event for the groundbreaking of the new K-8 Facility from 1030am-1130am.

It will be mainly dry for most of today after a few showers this morning and early afternoon. Storms are expected to develop and move across the area late this afternoon and evening. Some storms may be severe, with damaging winds the main risk. Showers and some thunder linger overnight tonight.

Much of today will be dry, with storms likely to move into Northwest Ohio towards this evening. Storms are expected to weaken while pushing east into tonight. Tuesday is again expected to start dry, with more widespread shower and storm potential later Tuesday and Tuesday night ahead of a cold front.
