Our 6th grade students became entrepreneurs for their Marketplace project. They developed their own businesses and created products and services to sell. Using Ponus Bucks, classmates practiced buying, selling, budgeting, and decision-making while learning the foundations of economics, financial responsibility, and the history of global trade.

At Ponus students practice real-world skills, have real experience and solve real-world problems.

Our students are building technology knowledge, confidence, and proficiency by creating projects through multiple creative avenues. From learning how to use digital cameras to capturing thoughtful shots, they’re exploring how technology can be a powerful tool for storytelling, collaboration, and expression.
Through hands-on projects, students are experimenting, problem-solving, and bringing ideas to life. They are developing skills that prepare them to be creators, not just consumers, of technology. 🚀✨

📣 ICYMI: It was an exciting week of learning, leadership, and innovation at Ponus! Students toured HMTX Industries, presented their work to community leaders, and took on design challenges using positive design thinking to create meaningful, real-world solutions. Along the way, they designed and refined prototypes that highlighted creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in action.

The week also featured Ponus students attending the CAS Middle Level Leadership Conference! To top it all off, our students earned 2nd place in the state at the CyberPatriot Competition—an outstanding achievement and a powerful reflection of their hard work and talent.

Congratulations to our Ponus Ridge students and our wonderful Dean of Student, Ms. Murillo who represented our school at the Middle Level Leadership Conference at Southern Connecticut State University! 👏👏

Our students had the opportunity to learn alongside student leaders from schools across Connecticut while engaging in meaningful trainings and workshops focused on building a climate of acceptance, making a positive impact at school, taking risks, rising to the occasion, and practicing positive social networking.

This experience strengthened student voice, leadership, and confidence, while allowing Ponus students to connect, collaborate, and grow with peers from across the state. We are proud of the way they represented our school community and stepped into leadership roles with purpose.

🏈✨ We are incredibly honored to celebrate our Ponus principal, Dr. Lewis, who was recognized on the field by the CFP Foundation before 65,000 attendees at the CFP National Championship game in Miami.

Each week, students sketch a coin that spreads joy and kindness through a unique illustration. The Ponus community votes, the winning design is 3D printed, and the coins are shared throughout our community to spread awareness and a little Ponus joy! 💛🪙

This talented team of student coders placed second in the state round of the CyberPatriot Competition, their best performance to date! Great job representing Ponus and NPS on the digital stage! 👏🌐

CyberPatriot's National Youth Cyber Defense Competition is the world's largest cybersecurity competition. The competition challenges teams of high school and middle school students to find and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities in virtual operating systems.

Using a proprietary competition system, teams are scored on how secure they make the system. Top teams advance through the online round of competition, and the best of the best advance to the in-person National Finals Competition.
