Congratulations to our Corrections Officers, Robert Ives, and Jeff Polen, along with Major Summers for completing the Shoes Academy in Erie County. The class had a total of 15 participants.

The Shoes Academy, which stands for Seneca, Huron, Ottawa, Erie, and Sandusky Counties, is designed to train Corrections Officers in gun handling. This enables them to transport inmates to prison and stay with them at hospitals. Congratulations to all the participants.

We also extend our sympathy to the families of the two innocent victims who were also slain, as well as to the several Medina County Deputy Sheriffs who were shot and sustained injuries. We join with other law enforcement agencies around the State of Ohio in our support of the entire law enforcement community in Wayne and Medina Counties who are suffering as a result of this tragedy.

Congratulations 👏

Congratulations to Dispatcher Diana Wyatt for receiving the Life Saving award! Dispatcher Wyatt was able to recognize the severity of a 911 call, from a person who was having trouble communicating. When deputies arrived the caller was unconscious, and in need of CPR. Dispatcher Wyatt's knowledge and experience saved the callers life. Great Job young lady!
