7/25 6:45 PM - In addition to the very hot conditions on Sunday, thunderstorms are expected to develop or move in across the region. Multiple rounds of storms are possible, with the higher chances during the evening into Sunday night. Any storms that form will have the potential to become severe, with damaging wind gusts and large hail as the primary hazards. Prepare for the severe weather potential ahead of time by ensuring multiple ways to have warnings and planning for potential shelter locations.

Multiple rounds of storms are possible Monday from the morning through the evening. Uncertainty in exact details regarding location and timing exists, but there is the potential for these storms to become severe with all hazards possible.

Severe outlook for today looking fairly similar to how it looked before as uncertainty lingers with how this morning's convection will help/hinder things down the road. Hail still looks to be the primary hazard this afternoon with gusty winds and heavy rain more secondary threats ⛈️

This morning's activity will be more active to the south across Central Iowa - though portions of north central Iowa could potentially just get in on the northern end of the action. If this activity can move out quick enough and the we can recover some of the instability, severe storms will have a better shot at forming later on this afternoon and evening. How much we can recover will be key.

There is a slight (level 2 out of 5) risk of severe storms Friday afternoon and evening, mainly southwest of I-94 in the Driftless Region. Large hail and heavy rain are the main threats, but the exact details of where the storms form and their severity will be dictated by how storms behave Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
