Thank you to the Southwest Connecticut Transit Equity Foundation for its generous donation in support of our transportation program, which provides rides to older adults who attend our adult day center.

We also extend our appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the SWCTEF Annual Golf Outing, including sponsors, donors, volunteers, and participants. Your support helps provide essential transportation services and shines a light on the needs of older adults in our community. Thank you for helping us keep older adults connected, engaged, and supported.

The Southwestern Connecticut Transit Equity Foundation is proud to contribute $5,000 to ElderHouse Adult Day Center to help support transportation for the seniors and families they serve.

ElderHouse provides an incredible service to our community, giving older adults a safe, caring, and engaging place to spend the day. Reliable transportation plays an important role in making those services accessible to the people who depend on them.

This contribution was made possible by the golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who helped make our annual charity golf outing a success. Their generosity allows us to put those proceeds directly back into our community and support organizations doing meaningful work throughout Southwestern Connecticut.

It has been an absolute pleasure welcoming Donna Spellman and 99-Days Inc to ElderHouse this week! It truly has been all “fun and games” with engaging activities that support cognitive health and well-being, physical movement, and social connection.

It is with a full heart that I am stepping down as Executive Director of ElderHouse. It is time for me to create space in my life for family, friends, and other interests. It has truly been an honor to work alongside a community so devoted to helping older adults age in place, at home, with dignity. I am in awe of the families, caregivers, and professionals I have met. Caregiving is no small task, and it is one that we make possible by working together.

The donors, volunteers, board members, and staff have all committed their time and compassion to make ElderHouse a place where older adults can continue to participate in all that life has to offer. Some of my favorite moments have been spending time in the program with clients and staff. As a social worker who has worked with older adults for more than 30 years, that is where my heart has always been.

Together, we have honored our long-standing community partners and welcomed new ones - all of whom have enhanced programming and brought the world into the lives of our clients. We have worked hard to strengthen our internal administrative processes so that every dollar is used as efficiently and thoughtfully as possible. I believe we have planted many seeds that will continue to flourish for many years to come.
