A new school year is a reminder that the heart of a school district is its people.

For Norwalk Public Schools, Pauline Davis has been one of those people for over 50 incredible years. As our longest-serving employee, with more than 30 years spent at Ponus Ridge STEAM Academy and entering her 52nd year here at NPS, Pauline represents dedication in its truest form.

Thank you, Pauline, for your service, your heart and the lasting impact you have made across Norwalk!

🎒🎉 Our schools went above and beyond to welcome students back this week and had plenty of fun along the way!

There were so many creative back-to-school messages and first-day celebrations that we couldn’t share them all during the week. So, as you relax after the first few days of school, we’ll be highlighting some of the fun videos our schools created to introduce their amazing staff and celebrate the start of a new year.

🎥 Lots of friendly, helpful teachers and staff welcoming students on the first day at Ponus.

✨ We were honored to spotlight Gina LeBlanc during Convocation on Monday and celebrate her 42 years teaching in the district. The Cranbury Elementary School kindergarten teacher is the longest serving teacher in Norwalk Public Schools.

In her Convocation remarks, Interim Superintendent Sandra Faioes reflected on the “sleeper effect,” which is the idea that the true impact of an exceptional kindergarten teacher (and all teachers) may not be fully realized until years after students leave the classroom. For generations of students, LeBlanc has created that lasting foundation, and her influence continues to be felt throughout our community and beyond.

🎥 Watch our special video tribute celebrating LeBlanc’s remarkable career. Thank you, Mrs. LeBlanc, for your years of service to our students and families. Your impact is immeasurable, and you are greatly appreciated.
