Norwalk library would like your help!
With this summer reading theme being unearth a story, we decided we would like to unearth our story, the story of Norwalk, of our community.
We have all sat around listening to friends and family tell stories of growing up around the area. We would like to capture those stories for generations to come. We invite everyone young and old to stop in and grab one of our journals. Write a passage or pages, talk to grandpa or grandma, we just want to hear your stories.
If you were born and raised here or just moved here yesterday your stories make this community what it is.

Norwalk is such a wonderful place, with a rich, beautiful history. Help us tell the story of Norwalk and preserve its history and memories from those who lived it. Stop in and pick up a journal and share your favorite memories of your time living here and/or stories your parents have told you. No matter how long you’ve lived in Norwalk, we want your contributions!

After stories have been collected, the journal will be kept at the Norwalk Library and available for all to enjoy.

Kids —> make sure to stop in this week and check on your plants to see how they are doing.

Didn’t plant any? No problem, pick up an observation log and stop by each week to track the progress of the plants we’ve got growing!

Even if you didn't make it out to our Summer reading kickoff event, you can still sign up! Stop in, sign up, grab a tracking sheet, and join us for our many events this summer!

The first event for kids started this week: Kids can help track the growth of the newest seedlings planted in the library and learn a little about plant growth in the process. Stop in to learn more!

The summer reading program runs from June 8th to Aug 8th.

Prizes you can enter to win for participating are as follows:
Adults: Blackstone griddle and multiple smaller prizes
Teens: $50 Walmart gift card and smaller prizes.
Children (12 and under): Grand prize TBD -- stop and tell us what you think it should be! Lots of smaller prizes are on display at the library, so come in and take a peek!
