The Huron County Engineer's Office is composed of a small group of hard working employees, who probably are your neighbors and friends, that have a stake in the welfare of the county they live in. They do a mixture of administrative, engineering, maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, roadway and bridge construction to make Huron County's transportation system safe, reliable and designed to han

dle the latest equipment that is ever increasing in size in our county's largest industry, Agriculture. The Huron County Engineer's office is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 223 miles of road, 401 bridges and with an annual budget of 4.8 million dollars. Our mission at the Huron County Engineer's Office is to keep the county transportation system of roads and bridges at the highest level of maintenance and operation.

Please be advised, Greenwich Milan Town Line Road between Scranton Road and Court Road, will be closed for 3 days starting Tuesday September 1, 2026 at 7 AM. This closure is for a culvert replacement.

Recently on our Cook Road bridge replacement project, the structure was waterproofed and road grading was started in preparation for asphalt paving.

Base asphalt repairs today on Washington Road. Early next week Washington will open to thru traffic with construction continuing and traffic maintained by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.

This week on our Sand Hill Road bridge replacement project, asphalt paving over the new structure and bridge approaches.

Friday on our Hartland Center Road culvert replacement project, new culvert wing walls were poured with ready mix concrete

Please be advised, Zenobia Road between State Route 18 and Fitchville River Road, will be closed daily from 7 AM to 5 PM starting Tuesday August 25, 2026. This closure will last 3 days and is for a culvert replacement.

Sand Hill Road bridge replacement project update - contractor working on road subgrade in preparation for asphalt paving next week. Work to be completed in the near future, new guardrail, road stripping, and road berm, with anticipated completion date of early September.

Today on our Hartland Center Road culvert replacement project, the contractor placed the new concrete culvert sections. Each section is 6 feet tall, 6 feet wide, and weighs over 18,000 pounds.

This week on our Cook Road bridge replacement project, the concrete bridge deck was poured. Next week, roadway work will continue as the concrete deck cures.
