There has been an emergency shutdown located on Maple St between Stevens St and Prospect St

We are working to fix the Main Break and are Shutting down the watermain.
Customers in the area may be experiencing discolored water. If the water is discolored, try running a cold water faucet for 5 to 10 minutes to clear out the internal plumbing. Flush your toilets 2 or 3 times. If the initial cold water flush does not clear up the problem, wait about 1 hour and repeat.
If you live in a condominium complex or apartment building and experience discolored water, you may want to contact your superintendent to coordinate with FDWD.

On Monday, First Taxing District staff handed out notices for a water shutoff on Valley Road from the Treatment Plant to Grupes Dam. Unfortunately, we had some difficulties preparing for the shutoff and have to postpone until a further date.

The Alvin Drive and Wildwood Avenue main installation has been started by M. Rondano Construction, the contractor for the First District Water Department. Please be advised that there will be some water service interruptions in your area.

This notification is to let you know that WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2026, water in the area will be turned off so that M. Rondano, the contractor, can proceed with their work.

Shutdown will begin at 9:00AM
Restoration will begin at 4:00PM

The First Taxing District personnel will flush your waterline to remove any discoloration and air in the line once the transfer of service is completed. If you experience discolored water, we advise running your faucet with only COLD water from the highest point of your house until the hazy or discolored water clears up.

To keep our customers informed about scheduled/unscheduled work, FDWD will add daily locations where construction work will occur to our website. Alvin Dr and Wildwood Ln Watermain Replacement - Starting week of Monday, March 9, 2026

The First District Water Department will be installing new 8" and 12" watermain to upgrade the existing 6". Construction will begin on Monday and will continue through out the week. The contractor, M. Rondano, will provide access to your home during the installation.

Shutdown will begin at 7:00am
Restoration will begin at 4:00pm

After water has been installed and flushed, if the water is discolored, try running a cold water faucet for 5 to 10 minutes to clear out the internal plumbing. Flush your toilets 2 or 3 times.
