The District is currently experiencing an issue with water discoloration that is actively being addressed. This discoloration is caused by the disturbance of naturally occurring minerals (Iron and Manganese) that have settled in the water mains. The water does not pose a health risk.

On Monday, First Taxing District staff handed out notices for a water shutoff on Valley Road from the Treatment Plant to Grupes Dam. Unfortunately, we had some difficulties preparing for the shutoff and have to postpone until a further date.

The Alvin Drive and Wildwood Avenue main installation has been started by M. Rondano Construction, the contractor for the First District Water Department. Please be advised that there will be some water service interruptions in your area.

This notification is to let you know that WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2026, water in the area will be turned off so that M. Rondano, the contractor, can proceed with their work.

Shutdown will begin at 9:00AM
Restoration will begin at 4:00PM

The First Taxing District personnel will flush your waterline to remove any discoloration and air in the line once the transfer of service is completed. If you experience discolored water, we advise running your faucet with only COLD water from the highest point of your house until the hazy or discolored water clears up.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. To keep our customers informed about scheduled/unscheduled work, FDWD will add daily locations where construction work will occur to our website.
