🚒🎃 The Norwalk Fire Department was pleased to support the Wolfpit Pumpkin Festival at Wolfpit Elementary School!

Our members connected with children and families, provided fire safety education, and shared reminders to help keep our community safe. Events like this give us a valuable opportunity to build relationships and bring fire prevention education beyond the classroom.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and families who made this community event possible. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the fall fun! 🍂

Over the past several weeks, the Norwalk Fire Department has been conducting live-fire training as part of our regular on-shift training regimen.

This hands-on training lets our firefighters practice fire attack, search and rescue, and fireground communications in realistic conditions. These evolutions sharpen skills, improve teamwork, and help ensure our firefighters are prepared to respond safely and effectively to emergencies.

We would like to thank our neighbors at the Darien Fire Department for the use of their training facility.

Today, the Norwalk Fire Department joined regional partners for a water supply drill in West Norwalk. The exercise tested a tanker shuttle operation designed to deliver water to areas of Norwalk where fire hydrants are widely spaced.

Engines from Norwalk, Stamford, and Rowayton participated, along with tankers from Turn of River, Darien, Norton Heights, Long Ridge, Wilton, and Weston. At the height of the drill, the crews supplied more than 1,200 gallons per minute to Norwalk Engine 2.

We thank all the participating departments and our mutual aid partners for their continued cooperation and strong working relationships.

🚒 October is Fire Prevention Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Norwalk Fire Department is proud to promote fire safety education while wearing pink in support of those affected by breast cancer.

Hands-on demonstrations like this give residents an opportunity to learn fire safety skills under the guidance of fire personnel. These community connections help us share the importance of prevention, preparedness, and knowing how to respond in an emergency.

This month, join us in making safety a priority and standing beside those facing breast cancer, honoring survivors, and remembering those we have lost. 🚒

The Norwalk Fire Department was proud to participate in yesterday’s Touch-a-Truck Open House at the Public Works Center.

With beautiful weather providing the perfect day, families had the opportunity to see fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, and public works equipment up close while speaking with the dedicated employees who operate them.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Norwalk Department of Public Works for organizing and hosting this outstanding community event. Their preparation and hospitality helped create an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

Thank you to all the residents and families who spent part of their day with us. We always welcome the opportunity to connect with the community we are honored to serve.
