Today is National Heat Awareness Day🌞
As temperatures begin to rise, Huron County Public Health is reminding residents about the importance of heat safety and the serious effects extreme heat can have on the body. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and individuals with chronic health conditions.
Common signs and symptoms of heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke, can be found below. Taking simple precautions can help prevent serious health complications during periods of extreme heat.
