📢 REQUEST FOR BIDS – FROST HILL PROJECT

Norway-Paris Solid Waste is currently seeking bids from qualified contractors for an upcoming project at the Frost Hill site.

Bid submission deadline: September 15, 2026

Contractors interested in submitting a bid should contact Facility Manager Jim Labbe at [email protected] to request the complete project specification sheet and applicable state wage requirements. Must be insured.

Please share this announcement with any contractors who may be interested.

We are told most of the area is out of clear trash bags… good news we sell them small kitchen bags are $6 a roll and larger bags are $8 a roll!

🚨 Household Hazardous Waste Day Update 🚨
Today's Household Hazardous Waste Collection has been a tremendous success! Thank you to everyone who came out to safely dispose of their household hazardous waste.
We are now entering the final 40 minutes of the event. Due to capacity limits, we can only accept the next 40 vehicles. A staff member will be identifying the 40th vehicle in line, and unfortunately, any vehicles arriving after that point will not be accepted today.
We understand this may be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. This cutoff is not our decision but is necessary to ensure the event can be completed safely and within the program's guidelines.
If you're unable to make it in today, you can take your household hazardous waste directly to the Environmental Depot. There will also be another Household Hazardous Waste event in Bethel this August.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation. We truly appreciate everyone helping to keep our communities safe and clean!

Today is Hazardous Waste Day at Norway-Paris Solid Waste.

This is a very well-attended event, so please expect a line and plan to wait your turn. Staff and event workers will be working as quickly and safely as possible to keep traffic moving.

We ask everyone to please be patient, cordial, and polite while waiting. Respectful behavior toward staff, event workers, and other residents is expected.

Rude behavior, yelling, or disrespect will not be tolerated.

**Hazardous Waste Day Reminder**

Hazardous Waste Day is always a very well-attended event, and we ask everyone to please plan accordingly.

There will likely be a line, so please be patient while waiting your turn. Our staff and event workers are doing their best to keep the line moving safely and efficiently.

We also ask that everyone be respectful, cordial, and polite to staff and to one another. Rude behavior, yelling, or disrespect toward employees or other residents will not be tolerated.

This event is provided as a safe and responsible way for our community to dispose of hazardous materials, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping the day run smoothly.

This is an interesting read and shows the importance of recycling and composting.

The state is seeking an operator for a new program to shift some recycling costs from municipalities to large companies. But only 16% of municipalities have said they’ll sign up so far.
