Norway Fire personnel attended EVDT (Emergency Vehicle Driver Training) hosted by Salley Fire Department this morning. This 40 hour certification class will last several weeks where members will be tested on skills and a written test from the SCFA (SC Fire Academy).

Norway Fire responded to a vehicle fire this afternoon. Responding personnel located a fully involved vehicle fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and brought under control. There were no injuries involved in this incident.

Yesterday, Norway Fire responded to an automatic mutual aid call for Edisto fire department, finding a debris fire had developed into a structure fire; fortunately, there were no injuries, and multiple departments assisted, including Norway, Bolentown, Edisto, Canaan, Cordova, and Orangeburg Emergency Services.

The Norway Fire department provided assistance to OCEMS in establishing a landing zone for the medical transport of a patient by air. Also a special thanks to our neighboring departments who assisted with patient care.
