What a fantastic day! 🐐🐇🐥 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday for our annual Petting Zoo Day with Channel Homestead! We loved spending the morning with you at the Nature Center, meeting adorable baby farm animals and enjoying arts & crafts, live music, and a corn pit! 🌽

We hope you had as much fun as we did and look forward to welcoming you back to the Nature Center for more summer programs and events, Like MUD DAY on Sat, June 20!

We're looking forward to joining the at the Colonial Military & Craft Festival on the Jacob's Farmhouse fields on June 28! Be sure to stop by our table for hands-on kids' activities and a chance to meet an animal ambassador that would have been found on these same lands during colonial times. We hope to see you there!

P.S. Photo of a blooming Pink Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium acaule) on our property! These beautiful native wild orchids bloom in Massachusetts from mid-May through July, but are considered a species of special concern, making every sighting a special one. If you come across these remarkable flowers, please admire them from a distance and do not pick or disturb them.

🌿 A huge thank you to Nolan and Jonah, who dedicated a combined ~200 hours of service to the Nature Center this May through their Thayer Academy senior project.

They helped with everything from spring clean-up, to trail and grounds stewardship, garden projects, and many other tasks around the Center. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and are incredibly grateful for their service!

Calling all little artists and their grown-ups! Each week, children will explore a new nature-themed art project through painting, collage, sculpture, printmaking, and more. It's the perfect opportunity to create, play, and connect with nature together in a fun and welcoming environment.

Nature Adventures Camp is still in immediate need of a Summer Camp Nurse for the 2026 season, and camp is quickly approaching.

At this point, we truly need the community’s help spreading the word. If you know an RN, LPN, school nurse, or healthcare professional who may be interested, even if only considering summer work, please reach out or tag them below.
