..FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central New York, including the following
areas, Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Sullivan and
northeast Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Lackawanna,
Luzerne, Northern Wayne, Pike, Southern Wayne, Susquehanna and
Wyoming.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of showers and storms will continue to move over
the area through Wednesday. Rainfall rates could exceed 1-2
inches per hour with the heaviest downpours.
Even though this area has been somewhat dry recently, multiple
rounds of heavy downpours could cause urban flash flooding and/or
small streams and creeks to flow out of their banks. Two day
rainfall totals are expected to be in the 2-3 inch range, with
3-6 inches possible in portions of the Catskills if upslope
enhancement matches up with storms producing heavy downpours.
