* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southern Madison County in central New York...
Cortland County in central New York...
Southeastern Onondaga County in central New York...
Northern Chenango County in central New York...

* Until 1015 PM EDT.

* At 924 PM EDT, Thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Hamilton to Tully, moving southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD... 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE... Law enforcement reported several locations with downed trees and wires.

IMPACT... Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Cortland, Norwich, Hamilton, Homer, Brookfield, Virgil, Plymouth, North Norwich, Preble, and Sherburne.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Lightning is very spotty with this line but strong winds are expected.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Binghamton.

The Chenango county D.P.W will be closing county road 9 in the town of Coventry on Thursday May 28th between state rt 206 and Cueball Road to do a culvert replacement. The closing will be from 7 a.m to 2 p.m. the closer will be 2000 ft south of state rt 206. The public should find alternative routes durning this time. The employees of the Chenango county D.P.W thank you for your cooperation while this work is completed.
