Today members of the East Great Plain Volunteer Fire Department had the privilege of attending the Thomas W Mahan School field day with our tanker truck to help keep the kids cool on a really warm day.

With everything that can feel heavy in the world, today was a reminder of the simple things that bring people together. There’s something truly magical about the laughter of children running through the spray of the water from a fire truck. For a few moments worries disappear, shoes get soaked, and smiles just take over!

Thank you to Thomas W Mahan school staff for inviting us to be part of such a fun day. We were honored to help make some memories and cool off a lot of happy kids.

Members of East Great Plain Volunteer Fire Company proudly marched along side the Yantic Fire Engine Company, Taftville Fire Company, Occum Fire Company, and the Laurel Hill Fire Company during this year’s Memorial Day Parade.
We were honored to participate and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifices.
